Stills by Greta

I’m excited to introduce you all to my newest ‘hobby’. After a bit of soul searching and deliberation about the intersection of my interests/skills and others’ needs (and I use ‘needs’ very loosely) I’ve decided to give pet photography a go. I’ve been working on beefing up my portfolio for the past couple of months and I’m pleased to introduce you to my website: StillsbyGreta.com. The photogenic dogs featured in the gallery include: Annie, Walter, Peanut, Josie, and BEAR!

If you know of anyone that’d be interested in having pet/animal photos taken, please pass my site along to them! (I’d also photograph humans, but prefer animals. Nothing personal, folks.)

Best. Weekend. Ever.

I was a little concerned that after 8 months of anticipation, the Mumford concert wouldn’t live up to what I’d dreamed it would be (yes, I had dreams about it… but in my dream nightmare I had missed the concert). I don’t know what I was worried about. It was a perfect weekend. The weather was a little warm and there was some rain but as the hemp-crystal-necklace-wearing hippie next to Luke said during ‘rain down on me’ lyrics… ‘IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL!!!’. It was. The Mumford concert was my favorite part of the weekend, but there were other good parts… lots of other bands (including old crow medicine show and edward sharpe), tasty food on a stick, cornhole, beers, and some of my favorite people. Let’s do it again next weekend, guys.

Handsome couple

My favorite couple was in town last weekend and let me practice my photo skillz on them before they took off for a wedding. Clean up nice, don’t they? 😉

Instagram

If you’ve been looking for pictures of what Bear and I have been up to (since Luke doesn’t like to be photographed) check out my feed on Instagram (http://instagram.com/gretterath). The quality of the photos is pretty terrible since I’ve been using the camera on my phone. If you’re on Instagram and I’m not already following you, leave your username in the comments.

Lake-effect

When Luke and I were discussing our potential move, we made thorough lists of pros and cons for the cities we were considering. When we talked about Michigan, I don’t remember discussing the lake-effect, which is turning out to be a big part of winter here. I think it’s been snowing every day for the past month. It’s light and fluffy snow most of the time and last weekend it was picturesquely stuck to everything.
